Lookybook

My Aunt, the Librarian, just emailed me a link to this website where you can read board books online for free! (You know me, I'm always on the lookout for free.) I've already enjoyed visiting the site many times and reading stories to Zachary...especially books about trucks!

Here's the link if you're interested. I've also put a link on the right hand side under Worth A Look just below Sesame Street Radio for future reference.

Happy Easter

This Easter was the first time I've hosted a holiday. It was also the first time I've ever attempted a ham. I found out that if you get a pre-sliced, fully cooked ham it's actually pretty easy! ;)
We were so grateful to have some of our favorite people come celebrate Easter with us...Krista (Dane's sister) & John, Uche & Melissa, and of course the little ones Zachary & Zoe.

I'm so grateful that this meal (unlike recent catastrophes) when off without a hitch. A big thanks to Krista for making that delicious potato casserole! Yum!! And of course coming early to help me wrap the veggie bundles. Also a huge thanks to Melissa for bringing a scrumptious dessert!!

So am I the only one in the world that likes to put mustard on their ham?? I must have been a really picky eater when I was younger and that was the only way my poor parents could get me to eat it.

What a great day! Hopefully next year there won't be snow on the ground so Zachary can actually go on a real Easter egg hunt outside!!

19 Months Old Today

Time is flying and I almost forgot that Zachary turned 19 months today. What a joy he brings to our lives! He is so darling that most of the time Dane and I just stop and watch all the cute things he does. He can say many words at this point, but definitely not on command. His stubborn streak is beginning to appear with more frequency. My favorite thing to watch is Zachary playing with his daddy. There are fewer things in life more precious than that!

Please visit this link to see more pictures of Zachary from this month.

Da Bulls

Having grown up in the Chicago area during the late 90's, Dane is a huge fan of the Bulls. Now that we are back in Chicago I've been wanting to surprise Dane and take him to a game. Through a connection 4 times removed I was able to get FREE tickets!

2 weeks ago, to build the anticipation, I sent Dane on a scavenger hunt which led him to find these tickets. (I made them on the computer since the actual tickets were being held at the stadium for us.) Needless to say, Dane was SO excited!

6:00pm

The timing worked out perfectly as Dane's mom happened to be in town for 2 nights, including game night so that she could watch Zachary for us.

Of course, we had to swing by Ed Debevic's before the game for some burgers and milkshakes!
We were so glad that there were actually 4 tickets set aside so that Dane's sister Krista and her husband John could come with us to the game!!

Our "free" tickets turned out to be for sky box seats! It was so much fun watching Dane soak it all in.

Then our connection who works for the Bulls came in and gave us tickets for "better" seats down closer to the floor. We ended up in the 19th row close enough to get this shot of the Man-Child himself (Lebron James) shooting free throws.

One of my prouder moments happened when I won a Bulls t-shirt. They were launching shirts into the crowd and sent one my way because I was screaming louder than everyone else...I know, imagine that. I really wanted the shirt! Thanks to Dane for catching it for me, otherwise this almost 5'4" girl would have been out of luck. Here we are sporting the t-shirt and celebrating the soon-to-be victory over the Cavs.

It was a night we'll always remember!
l
A BIG thank you to all of the people that made this night possible!!

I Couldn't Be More Proud!!

Dane's first book will be released May 08!

For anyone who knows Dane, it's not a surprise that he loves Jonathan Edwards. After all, he did name our son Zachary EDWARDS! The title A New Inner Relish reveals Dane's desire for this book to ignite our hearts to yearn for and delight in God as we were created to, which all comes from being truly born again.
lllll
Being married to Dane is an incredible adventure. (I'm so glad I'm along for the ride!) God has gifted him in so many ways that it's hard to tell how God will use him in the future. He is a passionate and insightful preacher, a brilliant and captivating teacher, and more than that he is a very talented writer. In fact, that may be his #1 gift! (And on top of all that he's insanely handsome!!)

In all honesty, when we look at this book cover was are overwhelmed and humbled that the Lord would delight in the publishing of this book. We are also very grateful for the kind and gracious endorsements from wonderful men we respect so much.

In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD establishes his steps.
